Booking terms

Availability of services

Bookings for all services are subject to the availability of the boats. For certain special dates, and depending on the boats’ events schedule, availability may be subject to specific conditions.

Options

When booking services, the Client may place an option on a given date and service. This option gives booking priority for 15 days, with no commitment on either side. If another client wishes to book the boat for the same date, the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence will inform the client, who will then have 72 hours to confirm their booking. After this period, without a booking from the client, the option will be cancelled automatically.

Bookings

A booking is only firm and final after acceptance and signature of the quote with the words “bon pour accord” (approved) and payment of a deposit as follows: 50% deposit on ordering, balance due on D-5 (five calendar days before the day of the service). The final number of participants must be confirmed in writing 5 days before departure. Additional services consumed on the day must be paid in full on the day, on site, by bank card or instant transfer.

Free place for tour leader or driver

One free place is granted for 1 (one) driver or 1 (one) tour leader per 50 people.

Catering for groups

To guarantee quality catering and service, for groups of more than 10 (ten) people, the choice of menu must be made and sent to the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence no later than 5 (five) days before the date of the service.

By Les Grands Bateaux de Provence

As cruises are subject to the rules applicable to inland navigation, and access to the boarding quay may be prohibited by the competent authorities, the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence reserves the right to assess whether or not the river is navigable and to modify the Services without notice or compensation (in particular the route, duration, times, boat, etc.) or to cancel them at any time, including on the day of departure, in application of the above rules or in the event, among others and without limitation, of a pandemic, terrorist acts or threats, river flooding, floods, bad weather, storms, instructions from the authorities (government decision, prefectoral order, etc.), mechanical incidents and, in general, any event beyond the control of the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence and/or likely to endanger the safety of Clients, people and goods carried.

If a cruise is cancelled by the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence for any reason whatsoever, except in the cases referred to above, the Client shall be entitled, as far as possible and at the discretion of the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence, to replacement of the Service not provided with an equivalent service and, failing that, to termination of the contract and reimbursement of the sums already paid.

Late payment

Where payment terms have been agreed in a quote, any late payment will automatically give rise to late payment penalties. Article L.441-6 of the French Commercial Code specifies that late payment penalties are payable without any reminder being necessary. These penalties will apply from the date the principal is due until the date of full and actual payment. In accordance with the French Economic Modernisation Act (LME), in force since 1 January 2009, the late payment penalty rate is 3% per year. A partial dispute of the invoice can under no circumstances justify non-payment of the entire service covered herein. The only non-payment accepted may relate solely to the disputed amount, provided that the dispute is objectively justified and notified to the Compagnie des Grands Bateaux de Provence by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
